The design team were tasked to provide creative direction on furniture placement of the various bland and empty rooms in this residence. This space is designed for a family with two young kids who love to entertain and gather their friends and families for large brunch and dinner parties. The homeowners had sold their condo unit and relocated to this ±2800 sqft apartment and didn’t know how to make good use of the space.
Upon sitting down with the clients to review their preferences and their lifestyle it was brought to our attention that this family absolutely loves to entertain and wanted plenty of seating areas to fit for large gatherings.
Starting with the family room, this space has been masterfully layered and set up in a formal arrangement to allow easy flow of conversation throughout the room with everyone facing one another. This layout also allowed both the dining area and the kitchen to be connected with the family room so communication flow would be unobstructed.
3 seater sofas located on either side of the room have been accented with dark hues of leather lounge chairs with a display cabinet as the backdrop. In this standout family room, pattern, color and texture were masterfully layered to create this ultra chic space that’s balanced by clean lines and bespoke accessories. Homey elements — like a pottery collection, colorful vintage book spines, gold and dark hues of yellow accents contrasted with the neutral upholstery — make wonderful conversation starters.

Moving into the living room where it was previously used as a combined dining and living area by the client. Due to the homeowner’s lifestyle the design team suggested a symmetrical layout throughout this area to allow for large gatherings and easy communication flow. The design concept for this space needed to consider flow of guests, sightlines, existing column locations as well as window placements.
This character driven space features a symmetrical furniture placement that is adjoined with a low seating bench in the middle as a connecting element between the two groupings. This furniture and accessories selected for this space elegantly combine color, pattern and texture. Glossy aged brass, antique mirror, and brown mahogany surfaces add a little luxury while velvet surfaces bring in the warm and cozy vibes.
